License
Open-Core (AGPL)
BUS Core is released under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 (AGPL).
You may use, inspect, modify, and self-host the software under the terms of the AGPL.
If you modify the software and provide it as a network service, the AGPL requires that your modified source code be made available.
Commercial Licensing
Businesses that require a proprietary license, redistribution rights, or exemption from AGPL obligations may obtain a commercial license directly.
Commercial agreements are available for:
- Closed-source redistribution
- Embedded deployments
- White-label integrations
- Enterprise/internal legal compliance requirements
To discuss commercial licensing: licensing@truegoodcraft.com
BUS Core operates under a dual-licensing model: open under AGPL, with commercial terms available upon request.
Licensing FAQ
Do I need a commercial license to use BUS Core internally?
No. Internal use without redistribution is permitted under the AGPL.
When is a commercial license required?
A commercial license is required if you wish to redistribute BUS Core in a closed-source product, embed it into proprietary systems, or operate under terms incompatible with AGPL obligations.
What if I modify BUS Core and expose it as a service?
Under the AGPL, if you modify the software and provide it over a network, you must make the modified source available to users of that service.
Can I negotiate custom enterprise terms?
Yes. Custom commercial agreements are available. Contact licensing@truegoodcraft.com to discuss terms.
